The assignments to internship placements are carefully tailored, taking into account the intern’s specific interests and capabilities. As an intern, you can anticipate being involved in a multitude of tasks. These may include taking vital signs for patients, which is a fundamental part of patient care. You may also be tasked with conducting initial assessments of patients, a crucial step in understanding their health status.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in conversations with patients about their symptoms and medical history, providing valuable input for their treatment plans. You may also assist doctors with patient care and therapies, further enhancing your practical skills and medical knowledge.

Your responsibilities may extend to preparing medical equipment and consumables, ensuring they are ready for use in various procedures. Lastly, you may find yourself assisting lab technicians, providing you with a glimpse into the fascinating world of medical laboratory work.

Interns joining the medical program must have proven academic training in the medical field to apply. Nursing students are also welcome to apply. Basic Spanish is required to communicate with patients and staff. The level of responsibility given to the intern is tied to the intern’s training and experience.

Possible tasks:

-Shadowing doctors in the treatment of patients;

-Helping sort medical supplies;

-Preparing medical equipment.

-Helping in emergencies and field visits;

-Helping in health awareness workshops.

-Observing and assisting in minor surgeries.
