Dental Internships abroad

Travel, work and get experience by joining our dental internship abroad program. Dental internships abroad are a great opportunity to work with seasoned professionals, observe new procedures, learn about industry-standard practices, learn about equipment and making new friends and connections. All of this while traveling to a different country.

Interns applying for dental internships with INLEX must be studying dentistry or pre-dentistry. Tasks and involvement in the program are directly related to the level of knowledge of the intern. Interns are expected to know basic Spanish to communicate with doctors and patients.

 

Projects

Arrival to the program are most Sundays.

On arrival you are greeted by our friendly coordinators and taken to your accommodation. Next day you meet with all the volunteers and interns that came the previous days for orientation.

In orientation we cover topics like:
-Do’s and dont’s in the country

-How to get around and weekend travel

-Your projects

-Communication, SIM cards , and currency.

-Social meet ups with other participants.

Interns must be studying dentistry or pre-dentistry. Basic Spanish is required.

We encourage all of our participants in our programs to travel as much as they can during the weekends. Volunteers and interns usually travel together during the weekends. Our coordinators can assist you to make travels plans

During the weekdays volunteers and interns usually spend time together after their assignments.

Dental internships in Guatemala

Work assisting dentistry professionals with a variety of procedures. In the dental internship program in Guatemala, you will be assigned to work and assist an experienced doctor with his day to day work.

 Interns can expect to work in:

  • Patient record keeping.
  • Dental equipment care and preparation.
  • Assistance or observation in procedures like dental check-ups, fillings, extractions, bridges, implants, root canals, sealants, crowns and caps, and more.

Consumable material preparation.

Interns work part-time in the morning or afternoons and are called for specific assistance in certain procedures as needed. Interns need to bring their nitrile gloves, surgical masks, and appropriate clothing.

Interns stay with a welcoming host family that provides them with their private room and two meals per day.

Basic Spanish is needed to intern in this program. If you don’t know Spanish, you can join our Spanish classes before starting your internship, the classes prepare you with specific terminology for your field.

The work schedule is around 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

  • Location: Antigua Guatemala or Tecpan.
  • Accommodation: host family with two meals per day.

Gain real-world experience in the field of dentistry and live in a charming town in Costa Rica. By joining our dental internship program in Costa Rica, you will be assisting a professional in the dentistry and oral hygiene fields with patient care.Interns can expect to work in:
