Volunteer teaching in South Africa - Education program

Volunteer teaching in South Africa and have a unique opportunity to make a difference. You can teach children from disadvantaged backgrounds, help prepare them for life after school, and address any gaps in their education. You’ll also get the chance to see South Africa first-hand and meet some interesting people along the way.

Over 1 million households in South Africa have illiterate parents, coupled with the lack of regular and structured recreational sports at elementary and high school levels, overcrowding, lack of libraries, computers, adequate toilet facilities and special needs teachers, all contribute to an already over-stretched system.

Volunteers lend a hand in classrooms by helping slow learners and those with difficulties, but most importantly, they provide youngsters with attention whenever it is required. This program is ideal for people who enjoy working with children and who have a passion and love for doing so. It is a great chance to make a difference in a local classroom by helping where it is needed most.
