Changes happen. If you wish to change or cancel your program please read our policy. These are effective for bookings made as of May 1st, 2022.

For bookings made before this date, please refer to terms and conditions on invoice.

Cancellations and Refunds

All requests must be made in writing in a timely manner

Cancellation for individual programs:

Participants may use program credit of up to a calendar year from the original start date or transfer it to another participant.

The registration fee is non-refundable.

The program fee is refundable and follows these criteria:

-Cancellations 30 days or more before the relevant booking are subject to a refund.

-Cancellations made after 29 days before the relevant booking are not eligible for a refund.

Please note that all refunds are subject to a US$100 transaction fee to cover administrative and banking fees.

For group bookings over 6 participants:

Cancellation 60 days or more before the first departure on relevant booking: 10% of the total will be held by the INLEX in accordance with these terms and the remainder of the payments.

Cancellation 30-59 days before the first departure on relevant booking: An amount equal to 50% of the total program fee will be refunded.

Cancellation less than 29 days before the first departure on relevant booking: No refund will be payable.

Please note that all refunds are subject to a US$100 transaction fee to cover administrative and banking fees.

No refunds for no-shows or early departures.

 

Date and destination changes

All requests must be made in writing in a timely manner.

Individual programs

A program start date can be changed without any penalty for up to one calendar year from the original start date in the same destination. 

Changes are subject to program availability.

Destination changes on individual programs:

 If the new chosen destination has cheaper fees, a refund for the difference will be issued minus a US$100 banking fee.

 If the new chosen destination has higher fees, a new invoice will be generated using the existing balance as a credit for the new program in a different destination.

Date and destination changes are subject to availability.

For group bookings over 6 participants:

A program start date can be changed without any penalty for up to one calendar year from your original start date if informed in writing at least sixty calendar days before the relevant booking.

Start date changes informed after 59 days or less to the relevant booking may be subject to an adjustment fee.

Destination changes informed 60 days before the program start date are subject to a credit note for a new destination.

Destination changes informed less than 59 days before the start date are subject to review on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to an adjustment fee based on group size, activities, etc.

Documentation and travel

 

Participants are solely responsible for making travel arrangements, acquiring visas, and adequate travel insurance. INLEX can provide advice on travel arrangements, however, it is the participant who is responsible to make sure travel documentation is up to date and travel arrangements are made.

 

Insurance

INLEX does provide insurance of any kind. Travel insurance is mandatory for all programs. Participants are solely responsible for evaluating and determining the type, extent, and levels of any insurance coverage they need or desire for their planned participant travel period. Participants are required to have adequate coverage throughout their booked program and must submit proof of this policy.

 

Personal risks

 

The participant acknowledges and accepts the responsibilities and risks associated with their choice to travel to, temporarily reside in, and provide participant services in a foreign country. Such travel and participant work can be hazardous and involves a certain degree of risk, inherently dangerous activities and personal perils to the participant, both foreseen and unforeseen, all of which are fully accepted by and solely assumed by the participant. Therefore, INLEX, including any and all of its employees, managers, directors, shareholders, host families, and program managers, is not liable to the maximum extent of the law, for any loss or harm the participant or associates may suffer, including but not limited to loss caused directly or indirectly by:

  • Personal injury;
  • Emotional injury;
  • Death;
  • Illness, disease, or pandemic;
  • Damage to or loss of property;
  • Natural disasters;
  • Hostage situations; or
  • War or terrorism.
